Our Journey
Our Journey
Upon establishing a not-for-profit organization in 2006, Get the WORD Out relies exclusively on donations and sponsorships to accomplish our work. We still have faithful donors and sponsors who generously support us to care for children, provide medical care, and distribute Bibles. Many of our trips were funded by yard sales, car washes, trivia nights and other various fundraisers. Over the last 15 years we have taken many trips and been on many successful missions.
In 2012 we opened our first retail shop in the Metro St Louis area. For several years our brick and mortar offered global goods from many countries including Kenya (where we do our mission work), a wide variety of vintage, Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paints, and Young Living Oils.
In 2022 we saw a shift in the need for local St. Louis creators and customers. At that time, Get the Word Out made the decision to rebrand and expand. We invited local artists, makers, and artisans to join us in providing our community a unique gift boutique, The MAKER'S Market.
Our new shop at 24 North Gore in Webster Groves still supports the missions in Kenya, and we are now able to provide our customers with more variety, more locally crafted goods, and more fair-trade.
