GTWO President, Karen Smith, took her first trip to Kenya, Africa ten years ago. Soon after she began Get the Word Out, Inc. Its foundation - God's Word (the Bible) changes lives. GTWO's primary goal of distributing Bibles to the peoples of northwestern Kenya soon became much larger; they encountered children orphaned by war and AIDS, and this began our work of caring for and feeding those orphans.

Through God's provision and charitable donations of others wanting to get involved, GTWO used garage sales and word-of-mouth to raise money for many projects in Kenya. This too became bigger than anyone anticipated and the Get the WORD Out: Consignment, Thrift, and Global Goods became a reality.

Today, proceeds from the store are used to continue caring for the orphans and women of Kenya touched by GTWO. Along with the generous donations of sponsors and customers, GTWO supports women's businesses, art camps, an orphanage, and distributes Bibles across the remote areas of northwestern Kenya.
